Five checks
1. Where will it charge on a Tuesday night? If the answer is only public rapid, price that, not 8p/kWh home electricity.
2. Is the exact car on the GOV.UK list? If not, delete the grant from the spreadsheet.
3. New VED is £10 then £200, plus the expensive-car supplement if the list price is over £50,000.
4. Employer scheme or not? That decides sacrifice versus HP/PCP.
5. Drive it in the wet. Brochure miles are summer motorway miles.
